Instrumentals. Liked them since I was a teenager, and it continues to this day. So, if you would like, you can listen to my version of the Shug Island Song, no shoobies or yippies or anything else but The Band. I am not especially fond of the Banjo's contribution, but he is needed to fill out the group on stage, so I left him in. The Rock guitar is IMO the driving force, and is in fact the loudest as-delivered voice in the group - which is a good thing!
Second to the Rock guitar is the drummer - clearly in the same league as the Shellbeat. And the Deedge backs him up with lots of deep bass drumming, oh yeah. The two-headed pianomen do a great job on this song too, I think. And the Bass guitar has a mean driving beat.
I did speed up the tempo, just one notch - I think it makes the whole song more rockin' and helps get you into that head-bobbing mode.
What the heck, give a listen - all it costs is 2 minutes 11 seconds (including fade-out) of your time:

I really loved it! Had no idea the shugaland could sound like that. But who is making that do-wap-wap-do-wap-wap sound? (Must be one of the shugas I haven't bred yet.)

Ummm ... I only have instruments on my island ('regular' monsters like the Mammott have volume set to zero) so I am not sure what you are hearing ... if you could tell me approximately where in the song you hear it (you should see a scroll bar with a pointer moving on it at the bottom of your screen when you play the song) then I can tell you. And if it is the prominent instrument at that part of the song.

It's the instrument that starts out at the very beginning before everyone else - and then turns up a few times during the music - and then again finishes it all as the very last instrument on your sound file.
Doo-wap-wap-wap-squeal.

That is the Rock guitar (he has a blue guitar and is in front of the trio on the right side of the screen in my picture), as near as I can figure out it is some kind of opening riff of his - he does it at the start, and also later just before he launches into his driving song. The reason it appears at the end is, I like to have my recordings begin at the beginning (well, yeah ) but rather than just having them end, I repeat several bars of the beginning and then fade out.
I am not really fond of that riff of his, especially the ending squeal, but he plays pretty darn well the rest of the song so I forgive him ;)
Besides, I think every rock guitar player in the world makes gratuitous, somewhat-irritating riffs so why should MSM be any different

Aha, the rock guitar. I haven't bred him yet so I hadn't heard his part. Can't wait to get him though... although I don't remember his breeding combination at this moment. I'm currently trying to breed with the mammot, which gives me lots of white snowballs and a few shugas... no luck yet, and I don't know what I'll get in the end. A bit exciting actually.

SPOILER ALERT!
READ NO FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S COMING!
Well guess what? When your Mammott/Shug breed is finally successful, you will have .... <drum roll> ... Mr. Rock in all his glory, blue guitar included! ;D
(Think of me like the OB doctor who takes an X-ray and tells the sex of the unborn child ...)

Were you ever successful with this breeding? Or just a gazillion snowballs and lots of extra mandolin players?
