Maybe, we should just start the whole game all over again, this time keeping the native rocks and trees. I was hesitant to download the game to my laptop, but I really want to see these fruit-gardens....They are COOOL.

Well poop....Had a loose idea what to do with my "hell/lava" Island. Now, there will be two "native" themes? Hummmm...I'll just have to wait and see...and what about those that have made super doper things...like the bug lady, with her lava flows? It's gonna mess that up somewhat. Won't mess it up if you have razed the place then put up all things you like ... just that (again, this assumes that the PC version will follow last year's app version, like it did at Christmas) you will not see those lovely decorations replacing the as-delivered ugly trees and rocks. If it is as you like it before summer starts, it still will be during and after.
I did tear everything out, and I still do not like my Earth Island, 'hell'lava' is a good summary IMO. I waited until level 26 when path tiles became available and covered up every last red spot on the ground, I am not as creative with paths like some so the result is ... well, not so satisfying.
Which is why I am hoping someone will be patient and wait until after summer decorations so I can see them :)

Pooh, too late. I took advantage of that sale last week where the giant stash of gold was $4.19, bought earth island and proceeded to raze it! Now we're down to stubble, one hotel and one lonely Thumpies, since I can't afford to put anyone else in my crummy stick hotel. Good gravy, I'll have to stop baking and save up for two weeks to upgrade that thing! O_o

Have left lots and lots of rocks and dead trees...am just starting the decorating....and am going on the assumption that the update will happen! I can't do what I want for another 6 (almost 7) levels anyway...waiting for the tiles I need. Yes, yes...the non tile lady is going for it big time! Sooooo....anyway we'll get a chance to see what the Pineapple Fruity Luau, complete with Hoola girl, will look like....Xxxx'ed fingers I do it justice!

I suspect that the game designers purposely made that "here's your free starter castle" hideous to encourage us to upgrade - I know that is the very first thing I did after getting a new island is to save save save until I could have a decent-looking castle :)
