I have a question and wonder if anyone knows the answer. If you use a rare noggin instead of a regular noggin as a breeding parent, are the odds any better or worse to get the rare {forgetting which rare 2E monster goes here} ??? I'm trying for the rare fwog or drumpler or maw, whichever one it is, and have been switching between using the regular noggin I have and the rare one I bought and wonder if I'm wasting my time using the rare one as a parent. Since a noggin is a noggin, I figured it's all just the same since I haven't been successful in getting the rare 2E I've been seeking anyway, but I wondered if anyone's heard anything different if a rare parent may yield better results instead of the regular one.

Deleted Member, my bad! Please, forgive... We CAN breed with the rares, lol. On the breeding list their picture is a normal monster, so by glancing through the breadable monsters I thought, that they are like the seasonals - and we cannot breed with them. Sorry. Back to your question: I dunno, lol... but I started to experiment with it on Air (Riff + rare T-rox), lets see... Just FYI, I got two rare t-roxes bred so far as a "failed" attempt to an ethereal. Seems, that you can get rares even if you are not specifically going for it. On plant I've bred an Entbrat and a T-rox to get a Ghatzy. I didn't get gahtz yet, but one of the failed attempt gave me a rare t-rox... same on Air. I think this is cool! dancing-cat-smiley-emoticon

Anybody, please clear up my confusion about rare breeding. Somewhere else I'd read that you needed two 3E parents with both having mammott as one of their elements in order to breed the rare mammott. Then going by moncsi's guide here, it shows more breeding pairings as if you're going for a regular monster. Was this only for this most recent weeklong rare breeding schedule? I'd tried repeatedly this past week for a rare fwog, maw, or drumpler using the same two elements as those for the regular fwog, maw, or drumpler since that's what was showing in the marketplace, but would I have gotten them had I used two 3E parents so long as both had the same single element monster as the one rare monster I was trying for? Hope I haven't confused anyone with my wording but I need to know so I can plan better for the next time a rare monster becomes available. Thanks for any and all information.

The 1E rares have a different breeding combos because the normal ones cannot be bred... we had to buy them in the beginning... The two 3E parents are apply only to 1E rares...
All of the other rares are bred like you would breed the regular monster...
The 2 3E parents in case of 1E rares has to have the element the regular 1E has, listed in their elements... For example, if you want to have rare Mammott, BOTH 3E parents has to have the "snowflake" listed in their elements - basically both 3E has to have an ancestry connection to the Mammott...lol. There are multiple 3Es that can be bread with the Mammott in this example, and ALL of them can serve as parents in order to breed a rare Mammott...

Now I understand. At least I know I was breeding the rare 2E ones the correct way although I didn't actually get them. I'm embarrassed to say how many dozens of times I tried for EITHER the rare maw, fwog, OR drumpler and NOT gotten any. At least I feel smart in that I chose those with the shortest breeding times in case they failed...only 30 minute wait. At least the best part of the failures is that I got 4000+ coins each when I'd sell them off along with any XP points. So I really don't feel THAT bad.
